We are pleased to announce that several new creative workshops will be held at the Hall during November and December; these fabulous workshops will be run by Cotton On Manchester.

How to Draw: Techniques and Tips: On the 9th Nov at 6.30 pm to 9.00 pm: Cost £26.00

 


   

Beginners and the more advanced both welcome for the ‘how to draw’ workshop by Louise Garman. In this workshop you can expect to learn or enhance your line, tone, texture and composition in this all in one drawing workshop.

In this workshop you will concentrate on line, tone, texture and composition. Louise will provide worksheets and a still life for the students to study from.

This workshop will run for 2.5 hours.

How to use Watercolours: On the 16th Nov at 6.30 pm to 9.00 pm: Cost £26

 

 

In this Watercolour painting workshop hosted by Chelsea School of Art Fine Art graduate Louise Garman, you will get the chance to create a colour wheel and mixing colours. You will also learn about graded washes using both wet on wet and dry brush techniques. For the beginners who lack confidence, Louise will provide images and worksheets to work from. For the more advanced students, she will provide a still life to work directly from life.

Deconstruct to Reconstruct: Collage Workshop: On the 30th Nov at 7.00 pm to 9.30 pm: Cost £29



Learn how to create collage art.

In this workshop with Lydia Swinney you’ll be using lots of contrasting imagery such as buildings vs nature/ body parts vs consumable items, photography and fashion etc. A deconstruction and reconstruction of already made images, to create a new meaning, and making your own new image story!

This workshop will run for 2.5 hours.

Boobie Clay pot: 2 part workshop on the 6th and 13th Dec both weeks at 11.00 am to 1.00pm: Cost £43.50 (inclusive cost for both classes)

 


Two-Part clay, hand building workshop

Over the duration of two sessions, you will learn how Katie Nelson creates her arty Boob Pots and will have the opportunity to make your own version with help from the artist! You’ll learn the hand-building techniques to create your piece(s) using air-dry clay in the first workshop, and then decorate the work in the second when the pieces are dry. At the end of the two sessions, you will be able to take home your own piece – finished and varnished.

This workshop will be ran over two sessions, but bought as one, and this will run for 2 hours per workshop.

Christmas card crafting: On the 7th Dec 7.00pm to 9.00 pm: Cost  - £25

 


Stitched festive card, textiles and crafts workshop.

In this workshop you use an array of stamps, threads and beads to decorate your cards with a choice of designs provided, making up to three cards you can send this Christmas. This is a fun, festive workshop and suitable for beginner sewers and any crafty people put there. Hosted by artist Louisa Hammond.

This workshop will run for 2.5 hours.
