In little over two months, the community of Stretford raised over £250k to help transform the historic ballroom within Stretford Public Hall.
We launched a community share offer at the beginning of February, seeking to raise a minimum of £200,000 to restore the Victorian ballroom so it can host a range of community and cultural activities.
The response has been amazing with almost 800 people investing and becoming members of Stretford Public Hall, which was matched with additional funding from the charitable trust Power to Change - matching each community investment up to £100k.

Alongside Power to Change, a number of local and national organisations invested in the community share offer, including fellow co-operative Unicorn Grocery, Manchester Lindy, Trafford Housing Trust and Architectural Heritage Fund.
The share offer closed on 31 March 2017 and we're now busy working on the plans for the transformation, expected to be underway before the end of the year. We will be issuing share offer certificates in July 2017 for those that invested, along with announcing details of our AGM for the Autumn. In the meantime, please contact us if you have any queries about the share offer.
