To mark International Women's Day, Stretford Public Hall are screening We Are Not Princesses, a moving documentary which tells the story of empowerment through art. This documentary follows a group of Syrian women living as refugees in Beirut, who come together to tell their stories of love, loss, pain and hope through the ancient Greek play, Antigone. With intimate footage and stunning animation, this film focuses on the strong, resilient, and often hilarious Syrian women who are moving forward in spite of the ever-worsening situation back home.
