An opportunity for you to help your community get more digitally connected...
The Hall's NEW Digital Support project aims to help Stretford residents get online! We are looking for friendly, patient adult volunteers, with good communication skills, to support the users of the program to use digital devices and to access online information and services that could improve their lives! As part of the project, Stretford Public Hall will be able to loan out tablets and laptops, to give people an opportunity to trial the use of digital devices.
All voluntary work will be carried out remotely, so you can be based at home or at the Hall; you will not be asked to visit or support a user in anyone's home. No specific previous experience or qualifications are required as training will be provided but you will need to have a good understanding of using devices to access the internet and internet services.
The project is aimed at people who currently have limited internet access and have found it difficult to stay connected with their friends, family, and community during these unprecedented times. The aim is to enable users to learn new skills, build up their confidence, and increase their knowledge in accessing the digital world.
