We are very excited to announce that the Stretford Wall of Fame has now been installed in the Pocket Park, next to Stretford Public Hall.
This outdoor exhibition features portraits of people connected to Stretford who have contributed to arts, culture, and social and political change in our community and beyond. Selected by local residents, and reflecting changing historical boundaries there will be some people you will know and some you may not, but we wanted to use this space to shine the light on the successes of the people less recognised for their achievements.
The Stretford Wall of Fame was the idea of Stretford resident Jules Bagnoli . Jules stated she wanted to make,
“ A walk-through gallery of our area's special people - from all walks of life and backgrounds".
We really hope you are able to go and enjoy the outdoor exhibition as part of your daily exercise. Please remember to maintain social distancing at all times and wear a mask. If you have any feedback or take any photos we would love to hear it/see them. Please email [email protected] or send photos via WhatsApp to 07926686224.
The Stretford Wall of Fame's fantastic original artworks were created by local artist 'Barry the Boxer'. It was installed by JackArts and funded by Trafford Housing Trust. The exhibition is as part of Culture Champions Trafford, a project led by Jessica Loveday and Friends of Stretford Public Hall.
We hope you enjoy the exhibition!!
